Reflective writing (03/03/22)

I honestly felt like I didn't really understand the purpose of concept art at the start - I understood it as the sort of atmosphere that my final piece would convey, similar to concept art for computer games, but after listening to the informal crit at the end of the day it seemed that the art pieces were supposed to be more contemporary and more conceptual and less 'naturalistic,' Nevertheless, it gave me some understanding of the kind of colours I could be using for the final piece and somewhat more of an understanding for the character Hercules Poirot. Perhaps this would have been a bit more beneficial with more prior research to understand the atmosphere better. Mary emphasised how important contextual research is to be accurate and believable in my piece, which I will take forward in my research into the characters of the novel and how they move around the space.
